Thinking about home (mixed media on paper)

Hello hivers, an happy Friday to you all!
A new weekend is just around the corner and here the weather is really hot for the most part of the day, so, after the lunch, my city seems desert. Silent, quiet hours until the Sun will go down and the air ourtside will become cooler. ^_^

yesterday, in the late afternoon, there was a lesson (the last lesson before the summer pause) of the art class inside our lab and I worked on a new painting on paper inspired by the prototype I painted yesterday. The art lessons will restart in September, when the weather will be more comfortable to paint inside the lab.
You can see the final result of the artwork I painted yesterday in the following pics:

As you can see, the subject an human figure in profile with a big head and no hair. I added a tiny scene about home on the head and, as you can understand, it's another new piece of the series I call "Thinking about home".
It's a mixed media (acrylic colors, oil colors and white ink) painting on 200 gsm paper in A4 size and, as usual, I took some pics while I was painted this one:

Soon I'll add this new artwork to my Artfinder shop (link at the bottom), hoping it will find a new home!

I hope you like it!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

I like it a lot! Can't help but wonder why your series is called 'Thinking about Home'.
You didn't change countries or did you? Or are you perhaps missing the town where you grew up? Just curious :^)

It's just because I started to work on this kind of paintings during the covid lockdown here in Italy, when we lived our own home in a very strong way. During that hard time I started to paint tiny houses everywhere and I sold many paintings of the series along the time, I think because everyone of us can see different things on this kind of scenes. ^_^

I see. Thanks for explaining that. Those 'crazy' times definitely also inspired my creativity/stories or: I had to write about them to deal with all the stress.

Sending a hug.

The artwork you painted yesterday is nice, I was wondering what drives the name "thinking about home" I look at it again and see there was a home and hair on the head, this is so creative

Thanks so much! ^^ I started this series during the covid lockdown, when we couldn't go out of home. In time I noticed these artworks remind different thoughts and memories to people and so I improve them with different tecniques and characters. ^^

Greetings Dear Silvia,

Though you have been working on this series for a while...'Thinking About Home'...This one does take us in a different direction...it keeps the subject interesting...the figure could represent a man or a thought perhaps....still thinking on it and that's the point ...right. ^__^

Appreciate your kind reblog of Bleujay's post...very kind of you.

Wishing you and your husband a lovely weeks end.

Caio/Cheers!
