The ancient sculptures and the spiral staircase inside the Palazzo comunale (Pistoia, Italy)

Hello hivers, an happy Monday to you all! I hope you spent a nice weekend in your favorite way and a good start of a new working week. ❤️

Yesterday me and my hubby @paolobeneforti went to the main square (Piazza del Duomo) of my city to visit the ancient palace we use to call "Palazzo comunale" because the municipality (in italian language is "Comune") has the main offices inside that beautiful place), also called Palazzo di Giano or Palazzo degli Anziani. There were some nice little events inside the beautiful rooms of the building, for example there was a short concert of guitar students, a corner where people teached to play chess, a room where people could watch some old school books for children and we could visit some corners of the building that usually are closed to people like a beautiful ancient spiral staircase I've never seen before!
I took a lot of pics and I thought it could be nice to share with you some of them!
Just to know, this ancient building is the city hall since centuries and since a lot of years it's also the house of a Museo Civico d'Arte Antica (Museum of ancient artworks).

Around one month ago I wrote a content about part of this buolding, but there are so many beautiful things inside of it and so it's time to show you more and more.

At first, when you enter inside of it, you can see in a corner some beautiful ancient sculptures:

A sculpted "Colonna itineraria" (itinerary column) made in the XII century:

A statue of the Cardinal Forteguerri sculpted in the 1511:

Some other sculptures (they are part of the Museum of ancient art):

Like I wrote before, we could watch also a beautiful ancient spiral staircase usually closed to the public and I could take some pics from the down of it:

Ciao this post reminds me of my humanities class to compare two statues and to appreciate arts or humanities.
