Jump in the medioeval age, part II. 😊

Hello hivers, I wish you a wonderful Saturday! The Sun is shining on the sky today and the weather is perfect to enjoy some hours out of home.
Today I'm here to share with you some other pics I took the previous Saturday, when in my city there was a very nice (and funny): a festival of 2 days dedicated to the medieval history of my the city! Days ago I shared with you some pics about the living chess game there, when my hubby had the role of the White Horse, but during that day I took a lot of pics because all the square was in the medioeval style.
To know more about the history of my city (Pistoia) you can read more about it here.
Coming back to the events during the past weekend, it was really a jump in the past with many reenactors with specific roles like, just for example, medieval artisans, knights and traders, nobles, poor, dancers, etc. A lot of beautiful costumes and a lot of fun for all the people who were in the square, believe me. ❤️

In the following pics, you can see what I watched all around me during the events and I hope you can image the feeling to be there. In the first one you can see some flags with symbols and colors of different Rioni (the ancient district) flag-wavers thrown into the air in front of the Dome:

There were also some freaky characters around:

I think some places in Italy do a better job of marking their history than some in the UK. We have some old traditions like morris dancing, but others have been lost. At least my band plays some old English music.

I like the old English music, even if here is not so simple to listen it in real! Here in Tuscany every city use to remember the own history with similar events and, for example, there are also some private schools to teach to young boy and girl to be flag-wavers. I'm pretty sure the medioeval age was not so funny as we can see during these events, but it's an interesting way to remember a part of our past. ^_^
