I just launched my Patreon page! ^_^
An happy Saturday to all hivers here! Crazy weather here today, the Sun and the rain looks switch the sky since this morning, but even if the day looks grey, I can add colors around thanks my brushes and colors.
Today I worked hard to set up my own page on Patreon and I just launched it (you can find me here !
For who don't know it, Patreon is a membership platform that provides tools for content creators thanks a subscription service. The platform helps artists and creative people (painter, musicians and oter kind of content creators) to earn a monthly income by providing "rewards" (for example downloadable illustrations, video of music lessons or other benefits) to their subscribers.
Years ago I tried to open a page there, but, to be honest, it didn't work so much and so I stopped that activity. Now I decided to try again because it could be a nice way to stay in touch with people who loves what I do.
I provide different membership benefits (exclusive contents, downloadable pdf, a discout for my artfinder shop and other benefits) for my patrons, depending on the amount that each patron pays (from 1 to 10 euro).
Thinking about it, for artists like me, Hive is a little similar to Patreon, because we use to share our artworks (and work in progress too) with the community and we receive an income from people who likes what we are sharing! ^_^

I thought about starting one a while ago but I got a feeling that you first must have a good amount of followers on Social Media and I don't. Not that I have tried to attract people to be honest :)
I think the same, Patreon could be and interesting tool Just of you have a good amount of followers on social media. I don't have so much followers around, but now I have more followers than the First Time I tried . It's a sort of experiment for me, on the next months I'll understand of It Will work for me or not. 🌸
I wonder if Hive will ever compete with Patreon. The advantage we have is that you can give to an artist with votes without spending anything. Of course you need a decent stake for that to be worth much, but that is related to what you can afford to invest. Anyway, I hope your Patreon does well for you.
I don't kow if Hive will ever compete with Patreon, but I remember years ago (maybe during the Fest in Lisbon, if I remember well) we talked with other creative people about how this community was a great source for artists in every fields because we can earn something not just selling the final pieces, but also sharing the process to make it. In my thoughts, Hive is a way to stay in touch with people who loves your art (or musics, or poems or others) and to earn something also for the process to make your creation. To be honest, I'm not sure Patreon will work for me because I don't have enough followers on my social media, but I don't have doubts about how Hive works for me, because I'm really happy about my results here. :D
I love seeing work from you and Paolo on here as well as other artists. Hive offers a different way to support them. I would hope it could reach a lot more creative people eventually. You are the pioneers.
Hive added a feature for automatic recurring payments (so long as the balance can support it) so it is possible to use Hive as a platform more directly like Patreon too.
Yes, that is an option too, but giving rewards via votes is just such a cool system. I think some just can't their heads around that being possible. If you can get a thousand fans who each build up a few hundred HP and vote on your daily posts then you have a nice bit of income that will only increase as people build their accounts. I've just not seen many people get near that yet.
