Exercising my hands drawing a sparrow.

Hello hivers, an happy Saturday to you all! Another rainy day here in my area and now my old bones really need some sunny warm hours, believe me!
While I feel myself like a fish in a bowl, today I'm very excited because on the next Monday I'll start to teach art to some kids here inside my lab room.
At now some different emotions are running inside me, I'm a little anxious but, at the same time, I'm pretty sure to work with the children it will be funny and inspiring. Years ago I used to organise short workshop for children inside our local public library, but to start an art class for them inside my lab is something new for me. 😁
While I'm thinking about some funny simple exercises to do with them (it's a small group of children around 9-10 years old), I'm also exercising my hands drawing something in a realistic style.
For example, yesterday in the afternoon I drew a nice sweet sparrow and you can see the final result in the following pic:

As you can see, it's a simple sparrow I drew watching one of the pics I found googling "sparrow". You know I love to paint birds in my own illustrative style, but it's always useful to exercise my hands in a more realistic style.
I drew it on a page of my sketchbook and, like I use to do , I took some pics while I was painting it so you can see the process too:
