All together! 😊
Hello hivers, an happy Monday to you all! I hope you spent a nice weekend. I spent my weekend in a very busy (but happy!) way and so I started this working week a little tired. To relax my mind and to clear my thoughts, this morning I spent a long pause from my brushes and colors walking along the side of the river close to my home.
In a corner of the river there was a funny group of different birds and duck all together and so I couldn't resist to take some pics to share with you (using my camera, a Nikon coolpix B700)!
At first, the Grey Heron this time was not so shy as usual and so I can admire its wonderful, elegant profile:
It was not the only one in that corner, as you can see in the following pic:
Yes, there were the Grey Heron, four male mallard sleeping in quiet (I think their femals are busy with their eggs, because usually they stay all together) and, on the water, the female Aix sponsa!
The female ainx sponsa (the one with the white make up around the eyes) arrived here around a couple of years ago without a male, so I use towatch her close to the group of mallard. I'm a little sorry for her because at know she didn't find a "better half" but I cross my finger for her to have a "romantic" relationship. 😊
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

I love the duck in the last picture, so pretty, he's so calm swimming there.
Nice shots. They're so beautiful ❤️
Thanks! To watch the life along the side of that river is so relaxing for me. ❤️
I can feel the same way
Wonderfully!
You know, many birds are monogamous, so I hope the Ainx sponsa finds a mate soon, it would be nice if you could photograph both of them and even their eggs, although I don't know if they would let you get close.
But I must tell you that the grey heron is the one that caught my attention, it's beautiful and reminded me of a painting of it that I did when I was studying drawing and painting. It's really beautiful, with a unique demeanour, many birds have it like the swan but the heron has something special.
I am glad you took that walk along the river and were able to bring us these wonders of nature. Best regards.

The ainx sponsa is not a common duck here in my area (I live in Tuscany, celntral Italy) and this female one is the first I watch here. Maybe she is here because she lost the way during a migration or she escaped from a farm, but I really hope she will find a male. ❤️
Let us hope that this is the case and that she will be accompanied.🤗
I saw a heron and an egret within seconds of each other on my run yesterday. They both flew off before I could get a photo, but they were magnificent birds.
!PIZZA
In the corner of the river where we use to go close to my home there are a couple of herons, 3/4 egrets and 4/5 couples of mallard. Walking there since some years almost every day it's very interesting to watch what they do and to see these ones all together focused our attention. They looks like a sort of "group of old wives". 😁
