A very special art exhibition in my city. ❤️
An happy Saturday to all hivers here!
Like I wrote you yesterday, today I'm here to tell you about a very special art exhibition titled "Fragments of emotions", inside the beautiful ancient building that is also the Municipality Palace in the main square of my city (Pistoia, in Italy).
A couple of days ago there was the opening and I was there between the other artists who partecipated to this "special" event. It was "special" because everything started some months ago, when a lovely friend of mine had the idea to connect some local artists (included me and my hubby) and some young adults of a local association, young adults affected by the down syndrome who are working with an art therapist since some months. Me and the other artists donated an artwork for the art exhibition (at the end there will be a charity auction) and some hours to spend with those young adults. Starting from the artworks donated, the young adults worked on some piece inspired by them and the result was fantastic and touching too.
It was a very exhiting opening and there were a lot of people. The young adults were so so happy and their families too. To be honest, me and the other artists were really touching by this experience and we all thought how fantastic is the languafe of art for every people. Using art people is really free to speak and to tell everything they want to tell even just with some simple lines and colors. ❤️
Sure, I took some pics to share with you, where you can see how those young adults represent the thoughts they had watching the pieces donated from each artist:
My favorite one is the following one. The author is Yaya, a young boy who use to work with the tecnique of papier mache. This is the piece he made inspired my painting and when I watched this piece it touched me so much. It's really a wonderful piece, I think:
On June 15th there will be the charity aution and, sure, I'll be there and I'll take some pics for you. ❤️
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

What an excellent idea! It's definitely a win-win for everyone and the exhibition room is also unique. You donated a lovey painting. I wish we could have such an exhibition in my city. Not necessarily famous artists, but anyone who want to participate, could donate something they created and the money could go where it is needed.
Make it!
Ever since I wrote the comment, I'm thinking about it, but it needs funding, coordination and a lot of other things too. However, who knows, maybe one day ...
I might write a post about my idea 🤔
I hope you could do it. Here the municipality use to give this space for free for art exhibition and, for non profit association, it uses to print the paper materials to share the event for free too. ^_^
That's cool. I think everyone can express themselves with art, whatever their abilities. I hope people enjoy the exhibition.

It was a very exhiting opening and I'm pretty sure people who will watch this exhibition in the next days will feel a lot of positive emotions. ❤️
Awesome... How great to see not only your work, but the pieces of various artists in your area. I'm so glad that you felt inspired to share this here. Congratulations also to you and to hubby.
How fun! A little bit of a mixed bag of quality, but it doesn't matter!
I've been working for 35 years with people with down syndrome. Many people really have the talent to create. You raised the quality enormously, I hope they try to create like you do!
