Wednesday Walk: It is almost done!

The photos below are not mine. They were taken from the video presentation that was shown to us (the parishioners) last Sunday.

It is almost done, but it won't make it for the Christmas Masses as we originally hoped for.

Yes, this is our future church!

We continue to raise funds. Every little thing, we turn it into a fundraiser.
And we know that the fundraising activities won't end when the church is built but will continue until we pay off our loans.

If you notice, our church building is the way traditional Catholic churches are built... it faces the east. And the floor plan follows a cruciform design. The building is in the form of a cross.

Many Catholic churches are traditionally oriented to face east, symbolizing the direction of Christ's return, but not all churches strictly adhere to this practice.
Historical Context
The tradition of orienting churches towards the east has deep historical and symbolic roots in Christianity. This practice dates back to early Christian communities, where the east was associated with the resurrection of Christ and the anticipated Second Coming. The Gospel of Matthew states, "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man" (Matthew 24:27), reinforcing the significance of this orientation.
While many Catholic churches are indeed oriented towards the east, reflecting a long-standing tradition rooted in Christian symbolism, there are exceptions. The focus on convenience and location often takes precedence over strict adherence to this architectural norm in contemporary church design.

I know the archdiocese is very particular about everything being finished before they Consecrate a new Altar!😇
Let us know how the construction goes, my friend!👍😊

A beautiful church sis! I know you all will be so happy to be having Mass there when it is completed. I am going to say that you might not be in it until after the beginning of 2026. It can be hard to wait, but that makes the actuality of inhabiting it, all the more sweet! Thanks for sharing sis! Much love to ya!🤗😘😍❤️ !LADY !LUV !HOPE !PIMP

Looks like a beautiful new church! The facing east is a long held tradition in Christianity, that's why we bury our deceased loved ones with the head to the west and feet to east to raise up in the resurrection to face east at the second coming! But the east facing churches are rule, great topic though, many people don't realize the reasoning behind it @silversaver888 !

Wow, that is impressive! What's the exact style there? Is it kind of Spanish mission or do they call that something else?
