Wednesday Walk (in my garden)
My walking shoes are by the door, and the water bottle is filled, but my plan to wander somewhere quiet and scenic is derailed by a phone call that needed my full focus and lasted an hour!
And somehow the walk never happens 🙁.
The side garden. It is not manicured... just random potted plants. It is overgrown, and it is charming in a certain way. Each plant has its own little drama.
I didn't get to walk for miles, but I do wander...
I investigate the leaves and trace them with my fingers... calling their names, remembering their stories, noting which plants lean toward each other and which ones stand boldly and rebelliously alone... crouching down to find new sprouts, like it's a treasure.
It's sort of walking, a slowww kind of walking. There is movement, as if I have traveled (even if it is just a few feet from my back door, 😂 LOL.
Knowing the space so intimately is deeply satisfying! I know which plants get the most sun or which soil stays damp after the rain.
I've watched tiny plants become full-grown, shamelessly showing off, and mourned numerous times the quiet fading of rose blooms... they had their moment and gracefully bowed out.
No, I haven't gone walking today. But I've wandered through the green chaos of my garden. I think I understand the language of leaves and so listened to the gossip and chitchat of petals! I've felt the pulse of the wild and wonderful space that is mine.
And honestly, it feels like miles.

Sometimes, on weekends, I spend a long time in one spot. Have you done that, sis. And once, I found a snail! The only one ever. I picked it up and brought it outside, where there is earth and it can roam.

A lovely garden walk through which we were able to see variety flowers. The white flower near the hibiscus looks like glass flowers. I am seeing this for the first time. Amazing 👏.
You have keen eyes, @shanis! Yes, they are glass flowers, dainty, delicate, and quiet, until someone truly sees them. You are the only one who noticed. I have two in the greenery, and at night, I light them. They glow with soft lights and make the garden feel like it is dreaming!

I've been fighting weeds in our garden all summer. We even had landscape fabric down and they still find a way though. We tried the vinegar/salt/soap solution and it worked for a bit, but I need to mix up another batch.
Weeds are a real problem. It's a no-no to use Round Up... I am undergoing the same issues too, and share your frustrations, @bozz!

A cellphone sometimes can be a distraction to a walk but we really need our phone for todays world cellphone is a must. You got a beautiful garden with different nice flowers and ornamental plants.

It's all natural and a matter of perspective.
Meanwhile, I try to have my flowers come in at a certain order beginning with the blue and white crocus from the Spring until the last of the carnations finish blooming in September. As we know, nothing really goes to plan.
