The Flowers in My Father's House

Over the past weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday),
I made a trip to my usual place.
Twice a year, I make the trip.

I would hop into the car
and drive some 150 miles away.
I've been doing this since I was 24 years old.

I'll probably be back on October.

Do you recognize this ageing tree?
My friends and those of you who more or less
follow me know this tree.

Every time I see this tree, I feel a sense of relief.
Under this tree is where I sit.

Since it is my father's tree,
I refer to it as such.

I can spend hours sitting here.
I sat there last weekend...
every afternoon.

Just planning,
thinking, and
spending some time
alone.

I spend about an hour by myself, thinking about my life and trying to get a better understanding of both the small world I live in and myself.

But, let me show you flowers of this garden

Flowers are just scattered all over.
These were all taken at different spots in the garden.

The fragrant, sweet smell of flowers permeates the air!

Such a beautiful place. I love seeing that tree, it is so inviting and begs for someone to sit under it and picnic or just sit and contemplate like you do. Is that a monarch butterfly?

Gorgeous well established Pepper Tree is what that appears to be, focal point in a garden to have a grand old tree still standing!

Relaxing garden full of colour and perfume drifting on a breeze.

I think it is a willow tree, @joanstewart ! It is the second tree on the center of the garden. The other one is pine. I'll take a photo next time.
Yes, it was relaxing. The three days I was there, I sat under the tree!

It just occurred to me that most of the flowers on the property are pink and purple. Maybe the gardener must plant other flowers, !LOL.
Yes, memories! I have actually been going back even before, but I have not actually lived-live there... only for short periods. I think it is beautiful! Some places are just beautiful, to a person... this is one of them, to me. I am so lucky... I feel blessed even.

I think the first tree is a weeping willow.

Yes, it is a willow tree!!! That camilla bush has always been on that spot forever. It blooms always, from fall into spring. It is so dependable!!!
Ah, that jasmine... it smells so fragrant!!!
