Sublime Sunday Fish & Shrimp Sour Stew

Today's dish is Fish and Shrimps Sour Soup. I make the dish twice or thrice a year, but I should do it more often. I'd say it's during the Lenten season that I remember to prepare this dish.

It is delicious and light!

The ingredients for this dish vary depending on the vegetables that I have on hand. The only mainstays are the white fish and shrimps, and the onions and tomatoes. You can use any vegetable you like. I used okra, radish, and taro. You can also use spinach, eggplant, and green beans, which I don't have at the moment.

First, boil water in the saucepan or saucepot. Afterwhich you add the onions and tomatoes and cook for two minutes.

Add the Tamarinda Soup Mix. I used 1/2 packet for 4 cups of water. Or you can add the juice of one lemon.

Then add the radish and taro (which is optional). Cook for about 3 minutes.

Add cut-up white fish. I used Swai. You can use fillet of sole, or any fish you desire. I pre-salted the fish. Cook it for 5 minutes.

Then add the okra (I like okra!) and jalapeno (for a little heat!).

Cook for another 3 minutes.

Don't forget to taste it! Add more salt if needed. And garlic salt and pepper.

Finally, add the shrimps, and cook until the shrimp is done, about 3 minutes.
