Short Ribs are usually cut from the lower part of the rib cage and are known for their rich, flavorful meat. They can be cut "English-style" or "flanken-style".

The "English-style" cut separates the ribs into individual pieces, which allows for easy braising or slow cooking. This style of cut is very versatile and is often used in a variety of cuisines. Each piece has a nice chunk of meat that can be very tender and flavorful when cooked properly.

On the other hand, the "flanken-style" cut involves cutting across the bones, creating thinner strips of meat with several small pieces of bone in each strip. This style is popular in Korean cuisine, particularly for dishes like galbi/kalbi or Korean BBQ short ribs. The thin slices allow for quicker cooking times, often on a grill, and the marinade can penetrate the meat more effectively.

Both styles have their own unique benefits depending on how you want to cook and serve the short ribs.

I tried this store-bought marinade. It is a large jar of flavorful Korean BBQ sauce that I absolutely love. It has a mild heat from red chilies combined with sweet undertones from apple and pear.

Using it is straightforward: just pour about half the jar over 1.5 lbs of meat, marinate for an hour, and then grill.

I grilled the meat using my Air Fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. I just eyeballed it for doneness!

Air fryers have gained popularity for their convenience.

Air fryers use rapid air technology to circulate hot air around the food, cooking it faster than traditional ovens. This is especially useful when I need to prepare meals quickly, such as these easy grilled short ribs.

It requires little to no oil, making it possible to enjoy "fried" foods with significantly less fat and calories compared to deep frying. This can be a great benefit, as I am seeking healthier cooking methods.

My air fryer has simple controls. Some have preset cooking programs for common foods like fries, chicken, and vegetables. That makes it easy, especially for those who are not very experienced with cooking.

I use my air fryer not just for frying. It can also bake, grill, and roast... I think it is the most versatile appliance in the kitchen. I have cooked a wide variety of dishes, from crispy chicken wings to roasted vegetables and even desserts.

It requires minimal clean-up too! Since air frying uses less oil, there's less grease to clean up. Additionally, the air fryer basket is non-stick. I just put it in the dishwasher, making the cleanup process hassle-free.

As you can see, it is compact and takes up less counter space than many other kitchen appliances. It is convenient for small kitchens or if you want to keep countertops uncluttered.

An air fryer offers a convenient, quick, and healthy way to prepare a variety of meals, making it a popular choice for busy households like mine!
