Displaying the Nativity scene is a loved Christmas tradition for many Christian families, as it is with me.

I have a treasured keepsake nativity scene set that I use every Christmas season. Ever since I was old enough to remember Christmas, it was in our home(s) every Christmastime.

To me, it is as beautiful as ever! I remember my parents having it my entire life. You can just imagine how very special it is me. I can remember my Mom reading the first account of Jesus Christ in Luke 2:4 - 19, which I will never forget.

It is customary in my home to keep the Nativity scene from December 17 until the Sunday after the Epiphany. It is the centerpiece in my family room.

Only friends close to me and those who are welcome to the upstairs family room of my home are able to view this Nativity scene.

I have a second Nativity scene in my living room. I bought this one for my first home. It is more than 20 years old.

The Nativity is my first decoration out of the box, it originally belonged to her. We spent many Christmases together, another reminder of her presence in my life. She was a blessing.

It was always up during Christmas time until my Mom passed away. I continued the tradition. It is so precious!!!

Simply beautiful sis! I have a dream of having a Nativity set; it hasn't happened yet. It needs to be big enough to see all the details but definitely NOT life size! Something that might take up the entire surface of a bistro type table (seating for 4) or a little smaller, but with all of the figurines nicely detailed. Someday.........

The Nativity set upstairs that belongs to the family... the pieces are small, but it is extensive. There are villagers as well. They were made in Italy. I'm very careful with the pieces, as I don't want anything to break. Porcelain is so delicate.

Those are so beautiful. THere were some decorations from my youth I can remember that I wish we had, but not sure whatever happened to them. I imagine my mother got rid of them when she downsized to her apartment. We have several that we have saved over the years that the boys made when they were little ones. We still hang them on our little tree and hope they will take them on when we are gone.

My parents used to have one that my dad built out in front of their house each year, but it kind of fell apart and they gave up on it.

It's great to keep those family traditions alive! That's one my family never did, but it's a great idea to help you remember the reason for the season. So much of Christmas has become consumer driven that it really is sad. Keep that tradition going strong!
