Some things take so long!!!

I received plumeria cutting from Hawaii which I planted using 75% potting mixture and 25% perlite. The plumeria cuttings are in this potting mixture inside plastic bags, which are sealed with tape. This allows the cutting to develop roots in a protected environment. Some things take so long!!!

It's been two months since I planted them.

When I first placed the cuttings into the soil, I knew that I had to be patient. After all, plumerias are not quick growers when started from cuttings. They need time, warmth, and the right balance of moisture and air circulation.

The sealed plastic bags create a mini greenhouse effect. It traps humidity, which encourages the cutting to callus and eventually send out roots. Interesting, huh!

I am finally seeing some growth!

Tiny green shoots are beginning to emerge! The stem still looks firm and healthy. Hurray! It feels like a small victory. It is proof that the plumeria cuttings are alive and responding to the environment I created for them!

Although it is too early to say for certain, I do hope that they will survive and flourish.

Growing plumeria is a lesson of patience and persistence!

These tropical beauties truly test your resolve.
I have managed to "kill" many cuttings in my lifetime.

You cannot rush them. You simply provide the right conditions and wait. The anticipation makes the wait more rewarding.

It is also humbling,
because nature works on its own timeline.
Not ours.

The floor & grout cleaners are coming tomorrow. They will do the downstairs only because I cancelled the carpets upstairs. Too much activity. I'm glad I have a live-in nurse!

You have such patience @silversaver888 !😇
I never thought about the fact that the root cutting needed to callous, to encourage it to send out new shoots...
I guess it's similar to forcing it to grow..... of course on its own time table!!😀

Most of my tomatoes and peppers grew very slow leaving many green fruits rotting in the incoming cold weather. At least you are blessed with a better climate than what I have. I may invest into a little greenhouse or cold frame to extend my growing season.

Always, with !LUV 🤗🌺❤️

It is truly so beautiful to see the first sprouts in our plants. Just yesterday, I was thinking that the key to being a gardener is patience. Without it, we cannot love and care for them. They operate on their own time, very different from ours, and respecting and understanding that is vital. It even helps us better understand the life of Earth and our mission here.

Yay! That’s such exciting progress! Seeing those tiny green shoots pop up after all the patience is such a sweet reward.🤗
