Silver Wood Pour and Silver Tic Tac

You can pour silver into all kinds of molds: graphite, cast iron, sand, even wood. Wood molds?

Wood molds are in a league of their own. It is just interesting how molten silver reacts to charred wood. The molten silver slowly burns and creeps into the cracks and grooves of the wood. Then it picks up all that natural texture and turns it into a one-of-a-kind surface. Every pour tells a different story.

Honestly, I'm obsessed with wood mold pours. I love them so much, I had a bunch of Silver Saver Bars made that way, then gave them all away to friends in the silver stacking community. It was my way of sharing hand-poured silver that is so unique and beautiful!

In the comments on my latest post, a fellow stacker's question lingered: where had his pours ended up (... like lost treasures waiting to be found)?

Did you know that @fat-elvis hand-poured silver?

Like several silver stackers who are on social media, @fat-elvis started to pour silver several years ago. And I have some of his first pours. Yup, he has gone to the dark side too!

It makes me think of that aluminum art they make with ant hills and stuff like that. Cool stuff!

I remember those. I poured a few wood pours. I love how each one is unique and how different woods make different patterns. Cheers!

I did not know that @fat-elvis hand poured silver bars that’s awesome @silversaver888!👍🤗
I can picture him pouring liquid silver, in a wooden mold, and watching the wood burn and the crevices fill with silver!
Definitely every one very unique one of a kind!😊

I never got the energy or time to pour silver and had a pro to do it for me.
On the other end of the hobby possibilities was gold recovery from electronics, I collected pounds/kilos of CPUs and electronics that are still gathering dust in my garage wondering if there is a less dangerous way than using dangerous acids. Again, I never got around to it. Too much effort.

Always, with !LUV 🤗🌺❤️

Good for you sis... You should try gold recovery... you already have the materials you need! But as you said yourself, too much effort!!! I tried pouring on my third year of stacking, and it didn't go anywhere. I could be good, but... I prefer to keep my nails, !LOL
I have to research who got those extra, extra special pours because I have forgotten.
!LUV always!🤗🌺❤️

Very cool! I can see why they are fascinating! Besides all the nooks and crannies, you know, it's got to be smoking and burning, so there's the smell it would produce as well! I'd love to witness it in person.

Thanks for sharing sis! Great job @fat-elvis, on those pours. You should do some more!

Take care sis and have a lovely evening!🍁💛❤️🍂🌻 !LADY !LUV !LOLZ !INDEED

The result is so cool. I have never thought that you can pour the silver into other material mold. i though You cn only do it with other metal mold that can hold the heat.
really interesting.

That’s so cool! 😄 The wood molds give each silver pour its own personality. The way the molten silver seeps into the cracks and grooves makes every piece unique.
