My Walk took me to the old town

... and I came across this property.

There are two homes in one property. It reminds me of my father's house which has two homes on one property. I'm scheduled to visit it at the end of September. I should remember to take photos of the smaller home behind the mansion.

It is interesting how some families would want to live in a sort of compound, where the other members of the family stay in separate houses on the same property.

Do you notice how massive the veranda is on the second floor☝️(to the left in the photo)? A portion of it is enclosed and opens to extend the outside.

The veranda 👇 is screened. I bet there are many happy memories of get-togethers in that room!

From the side and the front of the property you do not see the other house.

I wonder if the living room is on the left of the house, where there is a fireplace (brick structure that runs from the ground floor to the top). It would be so cozy! I imagine it is. And it opens to the outside. You can have tea or coffee, if there is seating (under the terrace)👇.

Or maybe... their sleeping quarters are located in the back house, and this front house is the receiving room, living room, library, and dining room.

There are so many interesting homes in our town.
I would love to be invited in to see the layout.

!LOL, for sure, @thebighigg! I hope to make the visit. It is work too, you know... but a change in scenery, a time to do something for me and something different. Maybe catch up with childhood friends. I hope for a week of something just different.

I always enjoy going through the streets of our town, @madushanka! I've been living here for 8 years and some months now, and there is always something interesting and new to discover.

I think having a second smaller home on the same property is becoming more common now days @silversaver888 😇
If land allows, this can help younger adult children get a faster start with their own home.
It is becoming so increasingly difficult!🙄

I like how you described the idea of having two homes on one lot, it really does feel like a family compound. It must create a special sense of closeness while still giving everyone their own space. That is a neat looking older house. I wonder if you knocked on the door to talk to them, maybe they would invite you in to see the layout.

I know that feeling... You start to walk with barely no goal whatvso ever a d you ended on a totally different location-no expected. It is good to mind and of course to the soul as well.

I keep imagining this type of house in other countries... There are no fences or walls. Just imagining the dangers.

This old-fashioned house design has become a national symbol.

!LOL You can count on your fingers the number of houses with enclosed fences in our town! Hardly no one have fences on the front of their homes. Fences are located between properties, but are mostly open in the front. Also, our town hardly has any crime, @josiva.
