2022 1 oz EC8 Silver Dominica Mountain Chicken Coin

Despite its somewhat deceptive moniker, the mountain chicken is actually a type of frog. The frog is popular in Dominica. It is in danger of going extinct because of habitat loss, hunting, and invasive species. The emergence of a deadly fungus detrimental to amphibians had a crucial role in their extinction as well.

Coin Highlights:

• Available in individual capsules, a skinboard of 5 coins, or a box of 125 coins.
• 5th year of release in the EC8 series from Scottsdale.
• Limited mintage of only 25,000 pieces.
• Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
• The face value of 2 Dollars (XCD) is backed by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.
• An effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse.
• A mountain chicken is shown in the reverse design.

Dominica is referred to as the Nature Island of the Caribbean. It is famed for its lush beauty and breathtaking views. It the most heavily forested island in the area.

Its economy is reliant on agriculture, which hurricanes sporadically devastate. A developing tourism business has helped diversification efforts to some extent.
