A Walk through the Food I ate, Shadows, Orchids, Inflation

Hello, my dear Hivers! How has your week been?

These past two weeks have been awfully busy. So I've just been focusing on the work on hand, and realizing that it is my only way to survive this never-ending barrage of things to do!

Yet, I have to take care of what I eat to the best of my ability. After all, food is a necessity! And the longer the deficiencies are not met, the more crucial eating is to me, and I will not be able to focus on things to do.

Even if it is as simple a meal as can be, I have to take care of this need.

I hardly have time to take leisurely walks, so I took photos of my dinners, hehehe.

Oh, goodness! My dinners have to improve!!!


I'd like to share this photo!

Sunshine, sunlight and sunny days... we'll be missing them soon! Sunshine has a motivating quality, for some reason. The natural golden light arouses your body and mind, encourages increased production, and gives you hope that all will work out in the end.

We take trees for granted at times... especially in the city.

There are days I am unable to visit the music room, but I have to at least twice a week to check on the orchids. I water the orchids, check for pest, sometimes just to admire their blooms.

Some people that you need to talk to plants. I do talk to my plants! It sure helps, when I need to say much and no one is around, hehehe!

About two years ago, I mentioned in my blog the pending developments beside my home. You can read about it here.

Well, here is an update:

On all four corners of the street are developments. They are building, and building, and building. The existing home values, mine included, have skyrocketed (it has something to do with inflation)!

To make matters worse, the Federal Reserve may raise the federal funds rate once more before year’s end to further tame inflation.
The federal funds rate is the benchmark interest rate financial institutions charge each other for overnight loans. The rate hovered near 0% in March 2022. Then the Fed began raising rates to bring down inflation to a 2% goal. After 11 interest rate hikes, the current rate range is 5.25% to 5.5%, the highest in 22 years.1

I don't have much to say about it now.

they have bene busy with all the new buildings, but great your property values has skyrocketed

they are building the train station and infrastructure here for a train to boston, and they has really hyped up property values here where I live

did you cook all those meals yourself they look so good and my stomach is rumbling lOL

Hehehe, there were a couple of times I had left-over Chinese food from lunch. Also, I have bean burritos in packages in the freezer for ready meals. But I always add to it. Yeah, pretty much everything is from scratch!

The meals not only looks tasty, but also beautiful. I love food, I also love seeing foreign foods, they are different from our style but i'm sure it tastes great just like the ones we also have. Your images are quite beautiful, the plants, the flowers, the roads...Thank you for sharing!

Good that you love cooking, my sister does too. I'm learning a lot from her. But my mom makes the best meals at home!

It is good... new neighbors... it only means that things are looking up!
But, I will need to consider it down the road... closer to retirement. I'll probably rent out the main house also and buy a home back in Hawaii... near the water... away from the crowd... that's if I can afford it.
I have 18 years to plan about it if I retire at 65, @silvertop !

My gosh, I have to have my car cleaned every four days instead of a week!!! And it is still going on.
Do you know that my home is the first one to be built in this development? We had a respite of five years and all these slowly.. rather very quickly... develop.

A developer bought the woods all along the river down past where my house is. There is talk that he is going to extend my dead end road into the woods and build condos. I suspect the economy is slowing down his plans, and I'm fine with that

Your dinners look pretty good to me and the orchids look like they are doing well. I would miss the music, but we don't get to do it everyday either.

Sunshine is nice for sure, but I'd like it with the cooler temps. We haven't had much sun lately and the rain and humidity can be a bit much, however, I'll take those cooler temps than the sun with the hot ones. Although technically our hot days are probably done with. Can I have a little less humidity, please?

I hope work will also lighten up. But my experience is that as we approach the end of the year, it gets busier! It is a challenge to be more efficient and fast.

Eating healthy meal each day keeps expensive doctors bills away, driving factor to cook fresh with plenty of well balanced nourishing things inside.

Yikes they building you in, similar happened here currently market no longer moving, no money available, your property market sounds at least to be holding value.

Greetings friend, your orchids are different from those in my country; but just as beautiful, it is our National Flower.
And speaking of inflation, here it goes beyond the price of housing, one of the most affected is food. One gets tired of planning food purchases for meals and ends up doing what he finds; but always giving thanks to God because he provides us and we never lack something to eat. I enjoyed reading your article.
