2025 U.S. Mint Morgan Dollar
The Morgan Dollar was first minted in 1878 and was named after George T Morgan, who designed both the obverse and reverse of the coin. The US Mint produced the coin until 1904 and again for one year, in 1921. The Morgan Dollar was a beloved coin of American numismatic history of 90% silver and 10% copper.
In 2021, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Peace Dollar and Morgan Dollar, the US Mint introduced a new series of modern Morgan Dollars with a twist: it is made of 99.9% pure silver and retains the iconic Lady Liberty and eagle designs of George T Morgan.
With advances in digital technology and design, as well as quality control, the Morgan Dollar shines more beautifully than ever before—a symbol of elegance for this day and age!
The modern Morgan Dollar is not intended for circulation.

Legal tender is the money or money equivalent that a country or political jurisdiction legally recognizes for all financial exchanges. It is the national currency in virtually every country. Non-circulating legal tender refers to coins that are theoretically legal tender and could circulate but do not because their issue price, and/or their melt value at the time of issue is significantly above the arbitrary legal tender value placed thereon. 123
The Morgan Dollars (1878 - 1921) ARE legal tender were never removed for circulatio since their first minting until now. However they are kept out of circulation by people because they have a much much higher value than the face value of $1 engraved.
The modern Morgan Dollars (2021-2025) are also legal tender, but not intended for circulation.

This is a very nice coin. Even if it is a commemorative issue. Like that is reminding of the past, as the idea of having it backed by silver at that time, was genius. Do you own an original one?

Yes, but I figure they will weigh 1/10 ounce and only be issued as Collector Coinage…. Our “Circulating” Silver Coins will have $2, $5 and $10 Face Values in Phase One of the U.S. Monetary Correction…

The old US coins were some of the best designs. Would buy Morgans more, but they are a bit too expensive here.

It's been a while since I traveled outside of Brazil, I felt nostalgic seeing this coin, if I'm not mistaken, I already picked up some with this emblem on a trip I took several years ago.
I just found it strange, since it's a coin from 2025. Are there any old coins with this emblem?
