It's time to pay attention if you haven't already to the Rwandan Nautical Ounce Series. On the back of the sixth edition in this series is the most well-known ship to have ever set sail for the United States Navy.

2022 Rwanda 1 oz Silver Nautical Ounce USS Constitution BU

Old Ironsides is shown on the reverse face of the USS Constitution nautical ounce coin in 1 oz silver from 2022. The vessel, which was the new United States Navy's first heavy frigate and is still regarded as an operational warship today, was built.

Coin Highlights:

  • Arrives in plastic pouches or mint-sealed sheets of 10 coins.
  • 6th issue in the Rwandan Nautical Ounce Series.
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver in BU condition.
  • Bears a face value of 50 Francs (RWF) backed by the Bank of Rwanda.
  • Rwandan coat of arms on the obverse.
  • USS Constitution on the reverse.

The Republic of Rwanda's national coat of arms is seen on the obverse of the 2022 Rwandan Silver USS Constitution Nautical Ounce Coin. Branches of coffee and sorghum are shown encircling a traditional basket in the design. There are Swahili inscriptions.

USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned ship in the United States Navy. Naval officers and crew still serve aboard the ship today. The USS Constitution is operated by the United States Navy, a partner to the National Parks of Boston. The Naval History and Heritage Command, Detachment Boston in Building 24 at the Charlestown Navy Yard is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and restoration of USS Constitution. Across the pier from Constitution in Building 22 is the USS Constitution Museum. The Museum serves as the memory and educational voice of USS Constitution and provides engaging and hands-on experiences for all visitors. I've watched many video documentarties on this very ship, read a variety of her accounts in battle, the musings of her legendary Captains that commanded her, opinions from her opposing enemy Captains, even computer battle simualtions against the HMS Victory. No doubt, a beautiful ship with a rich history.

The USS Constitution is a beautiful war ship!
Maintenance on these old ships is obviously very intensive @silversaver888!😮
Because water and time takes its toll on all wooden ships, I have read that 10 to 15% is still original on the USS Constitution…..
This is so important to our heritage, i’m glad someone decided to keep this ship, active and maintained in seaworthy condition!😊

America's Oldest Ship! Huzzah! Her Sides Are Made Of Iron!

Actually her sides were made of Oak but the cannon balls bounce off of as if they were Iron.

What a great addition to the stack.
