1985 Gold Maple Leaf 1/10 oz

I recently ordered these two gold coins as part of my February DCA.

For anyone unfamiliar, dollar‑cost averaging simply means buying the same amount of precious metals on a regular schedule, regardless of price. I do mine monthly because it keeps me consistent and stops me from overthinking the timing. I’ve been stacking this way since I started, and it’s helped me stay disciplined instead of trying to time the market.

The random‑date Gold Maple Leaf was pretty inexpensive, so I grabbed one.

"Inexpensive" is relative, lol. Not too long ago, I could buy about 1/4 oz of gold for what this 1/10 oz cost me today.

The price today of a random date 1/0 oz Maple Leaf is $640.65 plus tax.

I paid only $546.74, including tax, for this coin!

I'm pretty happy with that price. It felt like the right moment to grab it, so I didn’t hesitate. The premium wasn’t bad at all, especially considering how things have been trending lately.

I’ve been trying to stay disciplined with my stacking, and this one fit perfectly into the plan. Overall, I really feel good about this pickup.

And to top it all off, the seller ended up sending me an old coin

instead of a newer one. The moment I saw the obverse, I knew it was something special. It carries the portrait of a foreign monarch I’ve always had a soft spot for. Anyone who knows me already understands where this is going. The “long neck Elizabeth” design has been my favorite for as long as I’ve been collecting. Getting one unexpectedly like this just made the whole purchase feel even better.

We shall not be deterred by the price of silver or gold, but I need to adjust the type of metal based on GSR. For example, the GSR today is $4,847.60/$94.56 = 51.26. Therefore, we buy gold !!!

The gold maple leaf, the bread and butter of my Stack.
Gosh, has our fiat currencies withered down so much since we first started our Stacking journey.
Governmental cash printing is robbing us blind.

Today's prices from my regular VCBE retailer.
I'm so glad I decided to have started Stacking long ago and kept the faith.

Always, with Love 🤗🌺❤️

I've already started. for some continuity I picked up a only few 2026 silver Maples but continuing with mostly gold. My latest gold purchase of a half oz. gold coin now that I am on a fixed income it is harder to acquire fractional gold is down to 1/4 oz. coins from here on in. Meanwhile I watch that ratio of my magic numbers

Not a bad deal! It's too bad that it's so expensive anymore, but it is great for the rest of our stacks. It just makes it more expensive to pick up new treasures!

Yes... I jumped at the sale! The nice thing about gold is that we usually hold on to it! But still, I have some conversions to do!!!

You bought at a decent price… If Measured in U.S. Stable Coinage, you paid $54.6740… Gold will become Stable at $90.0000… Silver gets even better, as far as profits are concerned…

In U.S. Stable Coinage, Silver is currently at about $0.9275 per ounce, on its way to $9.00 per ounce… Gold is already past the half way point…
