1979 Canada Silver Dollar: The Griffon
The French ship, Le Griffon, disappeared without a trace in the Great Lakes of Michigan, USA, in September 1679. The ship was last seen on its way to the Niagara Falls with an expensive cargo of fur and goods for trade. The ship was owned by the French explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle.

I have several coins with the bust of Elizabeth II at the age of 37 years. It is not a secret that I like this rendition of Elizabeth II by designer Arnald Machin.
Plus, the reverse depicts an old ship! What stacker does not like a ship coin?
Incidentally, @welshstacker recently featured a stacker-pourer, @silver-vessel. His logo is a ship, and he has a special hand-poured silver ship logo bar!
I do not know much about Canada, so I asked CoPilot why a French ship is significant to Canada, that they would celebrate the 300th anniversary of the ship Le Griffon.

The great lakes are very dangerous from my understand!! This also reminds me of the Gordon Lightfoot song the Edmund Fitzgerald as well!🙄
I am learning as I go, @silvertop! I must have watched 4 YouTube videos on Le Griffon. And I didn't realize the Great Lakes were that dangerous, and it has the world's most shipwrecks. I've seen the Great Lake, and it didn't look dangerous!

This Griffon coin is everywhere at my local coin show.
The real Griffon ship could be anywhere around the great lakes.
Finding any of the seven iron cannons will be the defining piece of evidence, so for all you shipwreck seekers bring a metal detector.
I got two of these coins, and they are one of the most difficult coins to photograph.

It is indeed great... five lakes altogether!
I was out most of the day, and it is a workday tomorrow (again!). With the busy life we lead, it is important to be organized always, otherwise upkeep of my home will be affected. If something has to give, it is Hive. I don't have Hive on iPhone, only discord. Still, I seldom access discord on my phone.
But I enjoyed Sunday. I only wish there were more hours in the day!
