1978 Mexico Silver 100 Pesos
The Mexico Cien Pesos silver coin, minted 1977 - 1979, marked the first official 100-peso denomination issued by Mexico. Before then, Mexico had not issued any circulating or commemorative coins with a 100-peso denomination. It is also the last of its kind, representing the end of an era, as Mexico transitioned to circulating base metal coinage.
It features Jose Maria Morales, a key figure in Mexico's independence, to reflect Mexico's pride in its revolutionary heritage. The coin was issued during a time when Mexico was promoting cultural unity and historical remembrance.
Coin Highlights:
Contains .643 oz actual Silver weight.
Packaged individually in a plastic flip.
Dates will be of our choosing and may or may not vary, determined by stock on hand.
Coins will be in Almost Uncirculated or Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Obverse: Bust of José María Morelos. To the left of the bust is the denomination “CIEN” (100) “PESOS” and to the right is the year of issue and mint mark "Mo."
Reverse: National coat of arms of Mexico featuring an eagle with a snake in its mouth.

The Cien Pesos are among the last large silver issues. It is a historical artifact as it captures Mexico's pride, its reverence for independence heroes. It is holding a moment when silver was in the hands of everyday citizens.

Mexico has a very diverse history with silver mines, with one of my favorites that I follow the Avino Silver and Gold mine (ASM). A major Silver producer with one of their larger mines in Durango Mexico!😀

One that has preformed extremely well is Silvercorp Metals (SVM)!😇
I got some USD and planned on acquiring some mining stocks but Trump added a with holding Tax wrench into my plans. I retreated back into the Sprott physical metals ETFs Canadian miners. Playing the paper game for extra spending cash here. I made some pretty decent gains so far.
Some of the silver and gold miners actually set up their companies in Vancouver BC for tax purposes….😇
