Suffering, I am sure most of us would reckon that suffering is a word that brings us no joy, it is likely a state of pain, unhappiness and even emotionally instability and we would end up in a pose like the source photo.

Such a negative word, could there be any chance where suffering would bring us joy? Certainly it can, but not always

I would have a personal experience, some years ago, I was asked by my leader if I would like to cover for one of my fellow colleague in his spot for the Standard Chartered Marathon 10km race as he has taken sick. Since I have not prepare and never done the race before, I eagerly agreed, on the day itself, I took a while to warm up, on the 8km mark, my leg totally give way, it became so painful that I just dragged it through the last 2km. On getting the finisher medal, I felt very proud despite suffering for most of the rest and the next 2 days to rest the leg and every step taken after that is so painful.

Anyone with similar experience?
