Swimming or other competitive sport is one of the many activities that will let one experience being on the brink of failure really quickly and forcing one to react quickly also to salvage and try to remedy the situation while still keeping your body on the move.

One very classic scenario which is so epic that I can remember vividly as if it happens just yesterday when I saw the prompt today is the Men 4X100M freestyle relay in which Michael Phelphs is a part of, let's not forget he is aiming for 8 Gold Medals which is unprecedented then. And this is the race where he needs the whole team to help him wins the gold together to keep his dream alive.

Phelps led off the race from lane 4 for the Americans, by the 100m mark, it was the Australians who hands it over first with the Americans right behind, the Americans got the lead at the 150m turn and all seems to go well till the French took the lead, just as we thought the Americans would go all the way to the finishing touch, they experience for the themselves being on the brink of failure as French lead by the 3rd swimmer and their anchor swimmer is one of the fastest in this discipline.

Perhaps when you are on the brink of failure and when you kept going, great result can follow, as we all knew it by now, Jason Lezak had one of the fastest split that day to overcome the French in the last part of the race to bring home the gold for him and the team and most importantly help Phelps kept his 8 gold chase alive.

Never let failure bring us down, especially when the result is not finalized, there's still room for remedy when we felt on the brink of failure.
