Our mothers is the greatest woman in the world. There is absolutely no doubt in this statement, especially in Asian society where old social stigma associated kids and their primary care giving to the mother. While our fathers are associated with the financial stability of the household.
It is in her company, that we first developed into baby for 10 months, in her company, we were welcome to the world. In her company, we had our first feed.
Most mothers would be the party to give up her career once a newborn arrives, at least in the older times and generation. Again, it's usually in her company, that we take our first step, in her company, we mumble our first word. Our mothers would be our best teacher, she grow with us.
Thus the same cycle will at times be the same with our wives, the mothers to our children. They will also be learning and growing more in her company.
I think this is why, in a year we celebrate Mother's Day first before we celebrate Father's Day. I am not saying father is not important or has no role to play, it's just that usually kids spend more time with the mother.
