I searched for "doctors" in the Public Domain Superhero Database and found this guy. I think most supers with "Doctor" in their name aren't actually doctors. At least not medical doctors, like Doctor Strange. I think most of them, if anything, have a PhD in English Literature or something.

Just like I'll bet most of the "Captains" never really served in the military.

I don't spend that much time researching characters, before just modernizing their look and totally replacing their personality with whatever I think they should be. But this dude has almost no source material to work with. In fact, this image, may possibly be the ONLY image of Dr. Darkness.

"How can that be? He was a comic book character!" I hear you cry.

If you click that link above and scroll down to where it says "Dr. Darkness blog entry" there is another link that explains it. Yes, he appeared in a comic. But the story that he appeared in was a 2-page text story that included that image.

See, back in the day, comic book publishers would throw-in a text story, not as a way to fill-up the issue (there was plenty of one-page humor strips for that), but as a way to get their comics reclassified so they could get cheaper mail rates from the post office.

So, yes, that is all there is on Dr. Darkness. I changed his suit to charcoal, got rid of the red cape, and instead of leather gloves gave him blue latex gloves--because doctor. Although how sterile could those be if he wore them all the way to the office?

Okay, enough rambling. Here's a blooper from a SFX mishap during filming.
