Actually I just noticed that Kai's sight line is right at Mary's chest, so maybe there's some truth to that comment above that was cut in editing. He can always claim later, "I was just looking at your lightning bolt!"

So, is Kai really a nice guy? Or just some dude who wants to be the first guy on the island to bang the topless, flying girl? There were probably a lot of bets about that back when Mary was lost in her fairy wine haze. Or maybe he's a super villain on vacation? A lot of options here.
