RE: Be Honest And Upfront

An unfortunate series of events, which started with a small lie on the slippery slope of dishonesty.
My dad always said; "Tell the truth, it's easier to remember"
He then followed up with a man is as good as his word.
The first sentence explained the second sentence to even a young child.
And it stuck with me, and it has served me well.
It has not been without cost to tell the truth, but it has also served me well by opening doors which could have remaiined closed due to people not knowing me.
But a reputation for honesty travels through a town, maybe not as fast as gossip, but fast enough to keep my children fed, clothed and housed.
I have many regrets in life, as perhaps do we all. As hindsight is 20-20
But regrets I have none for telling the truth.
Yes a man is only as good as his word and not something you ever want to lose. In business giving your word and coming through on the deal means far more as it fuels even more trust. Some of my dealings in the past crossed over into the underworld and you cannot play games with those people.
