- So many times perhaps that for a while I didn’t really hear it. But one day last month he said it again, and I heard it. I mean really heard it, and I started to think…
”What if Hive lived up to its potential?” - Then I began to think: What makes Hive special or unique?
Body, Part 1: ‘making a List, and checking it twice”
So I thought of Hives strengths:
- decentralized,
- distributed network,
- delegated proof of stake concensus,
- smart contracts,
- three tokens,
- user name = wallet addresses,
- multiple types of wallet security
- delegation,
- staking rewards,
- curation/engagement rewards,
- author/content creation awards,
- decentralized hive fund for development,
- fast, “free” transactions (requires resource credits, which are like rechargeable gas fees).
- plus scalability.
Body, Part 2: Then I made a list of all the businesses on Hive.
- It was a long list.
- It was an incomplete list.
- It covered many goods and services, both virtual and physical.
- Then I had an idea, sort of a revelation… Many are waiting for the world to discover Hive, and its potential. As in the potential to build businesses on Hive and use it as a unit of account, a medium of exchange and potentially a store of value.
- Well there are many businesses on Hive, and they use Hive Backed Dollars as a medium of exchange, as in you can buy products and services with Hive Backed Dollars, the Hive blockchain becomes the ledger for exchanging units of account and both Hive Backed Dollars and Hive become the store of value.
- Hive has already been discovered people have built businesses on it.
- Now we as a community need to find those businesses and patronize them!
- But how do we find them? I am hoping the answer will be Hive Business Buzz.
- And that’s how Hive Business Buzz was born.

The silence in terms of comments to this post, is deafening. I have to wonder if Hive is really dying on the vine, that not one person thought this idea worth commenting on. Change the name of this community and let someone have the name and let them try to rebuild it under new management and new marketing.

Introduction
Jack Dorsey has launched his latest creation, Bit Chat, a messaging application that stands apart from typical offerings. Unlike conventional apps, Bit Chat doesn't rely on mobile data, Wi-Fi, or even central servers; it operates solely on Bluetooth technology.
The app is currently in beta for iPhone users via Apple's TestFlight and has already reached its maximum limit of 10,000 testers, indicating significant public interest.
Bit Chat functions by utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to form mesh networks. This innovative approach allows nearby devices, typically within a range of 30 to 100 meters, to connect and exchange messages without needing an internet connection. As users move, their devices act as relay points, extending the network's reach and enabling communication beyond direct Bluetooth proximity.
How it works
Decentralization:
A core principle of Bit Chat's design is its decentralized nature.
There are no central servers or databases; instead, every device serves as both a sender and a node within the network. Messages "hop" from one device to another, creating a dynamic and resilient web of communication.
Privacy is paramount, with messages being end-to-end encrypted.
By default, these messages disappear after a short while, and no data is stored in the cloud.
Users are not required to register with an email or phone number, enhancing anonymity and reducing the risk of tracking or profiling, a stark contrast to many mainstream messaging applications like WhatsApp or Telegram.
Bit Chat also supports group conversations, referred to as "rooms."
