Should sportsmen and women be allowed to use performance enhancers?
Where there's no rule, there's no sin but when there's a rule or where there are rules, there's definitely a sin and sin leads to punishment. I believe in the game of sport, there are rules already guiding all sportsmen and women, one of this rule is that no athlete is allowed to use performance enhancing drugs (PED).
Let me quickly explain what the drug is being for, they are also known as Anabolic steroids, they are drugs that athletes take to boost their strength and add muscles, these drugs helps to increase one's strength, so that one can perform better than usual.
There are two things involved, one is that there's a rule against the use of this kinds of drugs, so for an athlete to use this performance enhancers, it's like cheating the other players, because definitely the player is most likely to perform better than the rest who didn't take it, so when others are tired, he or she is still very strong, running round the field like a robot.
Secondly those substance are harmful substances which could damage their body system, so it's better to stay off things like that because it will later affect them in the long run whether they like it or not, all those hard drugs have their side effects.
According to the news we heard last year about a footballer who tested positive for doping test, one of the banned substances was found in his body and so he was given four years ban since last year August, even though I also read in the news that he said he's not guilty and that he didn't take any harmful substance that was banned, he added that he understands that the act means cheating on fellow players and he won't try it. Maybe it's true it not, the truth will soon be revealed as investigation is still very much ongoing.
I want to believe that you don't need to take hard drugs before you can perform well on the pitch or in whatever sport you do as a sportsman and woman, you can do well to train yourself to some extent that people will start thinking maybe you use drugs whereas, you don't. There are so many footballers out there that are doing just fine without using drugs, so if they can do all what they do naturally, you also can do it.
I'm a sport lover, and one of my favorite sport is the game of football, I use to be a Manchester United fan but when they started misbehaving, I decided to stay without supporting any club, so now I just watch football for fun. It's unfortunate that the player I'm using as an example is a former Manchester United player, I just hope the truth about the case is known as soon as possible, because it won't be good if he has been suffering for a sin he didn't commit and if he's guilty, be should face the wrath of the law squarely.
All sportsmen and women in their respective fields should focus on working on themselves so as to have enough strength that will always enable them perform better while working or training, they shouldn't decide to settle for drugs or depend on drugs before they can perform better on the field of play.
So, if you ask me, I'll just conclude that any player that depends on drugs or use drugs so as to enhance their performance on the pitch are lazy people as are also cheaters, because while others are busy training hard so as to do things naturally, the one depending on drugs is somewhere doing nothing or little, although there are some that also work hard despite the fact that they use drugs, that's when you think they're extraordinary, or built differently, whereas there's something motivating them to do all the magics.
No player should be pardoned when caught for doping.

It should not be like this, no sportsman should be allowed to take a drag because it increases the performance but also worsens the health of the player and the chances of losing the match are also increased.
