Giving or doing good because you really want to help?

It's good to do good and also give good things to people, I believe no one has it all, we still need one another in one way or the other to survive or enjoy life properly. As much as it's good to do good to people and also give them good things, it's also important to note that our intention while doing those things are very important.

There are different kinds of givers, there are some that give to people and thereby publicize it so that other people can see them and praise them for a job well done. Likewise there are some that are doing good to people each and everyday and you won't even notice, because they don't even want people to know, these kinds of givers don't even like it when you're thanking them too much. I have someone like that, whenever this person helps me and I want to thank him, he's like don't mention, just let give God the praise. He doesn't like people coming to him to thank him for what he did, nevertheless I still thank him regardless, even though he doesn't like it.

So many people today especially on social media, you see them making videos of when they want to give to people and then post it on social media, in my mind, I'm like is this really necessary? well, we all have our choice but to me I don't think it's necessary, if your intention is because you want people to see you, then I don't think that's good enough, why not help because you care, because you really want to help and not to gain popularity or because you want people to praise you afterwards.

There are some set of givers that also give so as to get something else in return from the person they're gifting, to me I don't think that's also good enough.
I believe if you're giving with a positive intention, God will also reward you accordingly, there's a blessing already for givers, so I don't think it's necessary to publicize it when you help, although there are some circumstance that may warrant it, maybe for a proof of a particular project or something, that's reasonable but posting it on social media because you want to gain publicity does not sound well for me.

There's a Nigerian content creator known as Brain Jotter, the guy recently used the sound of an old Nigerian musician in one of his videos, he didn't even know that the song will trend so well like this, alot of people are jumping on the challenge now on tiktok so, surprisingly the video went viral, I saw a video where him and his crew went to the man's house to pay him a visit and then gave the man a sum of two million naira, I know he purposely did that video because people were already saying alot of negative things about him that he used the man's sound without appreciating the him and stuffs like that. This is a different story but when you now come online because you want people to praise you for your kind gesture, I think that's extreme.

There are some lecturers that are only willing to help students because of what they can get from them in return, for the guys because of money and for the ladies because of money or sex, this act is not a good thing at all. Personally if I find out that someone is helping mainly because of what they will get from me in return, I'll rather stay far away from the person. Our intentions when we're giving is important, it should always be a good intention.

Having a good intention when giving is great. These days people give for the publicity of it and most times it’s unfair

That's right, I just hope everyone can start giving with the right mindset.

I believe if you're giving with a positive intention, God will also reward you accordingly

Only if they knew that their blessings would be more than the recognition they seek publicly.
