RE: Meine Kürbis Investition gedeiht / My pumpkin investment is thriving

I actually had winter squash, a family of pumpkins. Ironic to its name because it is actually a warm-season vegetable. It is called winter squash because you can store it for a long time and consume it until winter is over. We locally call it 'kalabasa'. Unlike your pumpkins that can be used for carving, our 'kalabasa' are not ideal for that because they are usually smaller.
Right now, we can't plant more because we are experiencing very dry weather that has caused some plants to wither. It has been more than half a month since the last rain fell.

May I ask which country you live in?
The pumpkin competition runs until 31 December, so if you have a rainy season coming up soon, it would be perfect conditions for pumpkins. The Hokkaido pumpkins I grow can be eaten or used for carving at Halloween.
Of course, I welcome every participant.
I'm from the Philippines. Do I need to plant the biggest or heaviest varieties for it? 😊 Rain usually comes in September or early October.
There will be a world champion in three categories:
who has the biggest pumpkin,
who has the most pumpkins,
and who harvests the strangest pumpkin.
But feel free to read everything again in the link.
