Children’s Day has not been this Exciting: The kids were the Happiest during our Unplanned Family Outing

Hello again to the wonderful people in the @Motherhood community! I’m glad to be reading your stories once again.

Last Saturday was a special day not just for my only son but also for my nieces and nephews since the long-awaited family outing had finally come true! It was also an advanced celebration for Children’s Day the following day.

This outing was actually hasty and unprepared. It was Friday morning when we talked about it, but no detailed plan was agreed on after my son, Hans Darryl, got sick later during the day. Of course, as a mom, my son was my priority, so I bought medicine for him and backed out of the outing. I bought Erceflora and Pedialyte since my son was experiencing diarrhea during that time. The family wouldn’t push through without me; that’s what makes us family.

Thankfully, my son got better the following day, and he was really persuading me to go swimming. And so the hasty preparation started at 7:00 a.m. and finished at 9:00 a.m. We helped each other in preparing everything since everyone was really excited to go. We just packed whatever was available for food and bought cups and paper plates in the town center. I also bought a swimming floatie for my son but my niece ended up using it since my son didn’t want to stay long in the water.

As soon as we arrived in the Spring resort, my nephews and nieces couldn’t keep from jumping and diving into the water. They were really longing for this moment for a long time since our last outing was around April 2021, which was four years ago. I couldn’t contain the joy in my heart seeing the kids enjoying this hasty and unprepared outing. I was thankful my son was better early in the morning.

I was also overjoyed seeing my son enjoying the poolside play and running. He played with his cousins with the ball, where he threw it to them into the pool, and they would race to get it and bring it back to my son.

He also played with his toy trucks beside the pool and wasn’t interested in swimming all along. He said the kids’ pool was too deep, but I managed to take him with me for this cute photo. My heart was full because I knew that his wish to go swimming was fulfilled despite being sick the day before.

Seeing these kids, including my son, enjoying themselves was such a wonderful view for me and the family. It was a priceless moment. We also had a family picture in the pool before we packed up to go home.

On our way home, my son and 2 year-old niece, Shantal, fell asleep. They must be very tired. As soon as we arrived home, my nieces and nephews fell into deep sleep as well. I heard them snoring which signaled that they were tired but content. This outing was really fun and meant a lot to them and to me as a mom and aunt. I was thankful we didn’t cancel it. Children’s Day has not been this fun and exciting!

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I hope to read more of your stories as well.

Indeed! Nothing is more precious than hearing their laughter and cheers during this event. They're like music to my ears as a mom and aunt. They really had fun since it was a wish granted for them. I surely cherish this memory with me. 😊

Greetings, it is true that we must prepare this place to be an appropriate place for them and that they know how to love and protect it.

Children are the hope of the future generation, and we, as parents, play a great role in shaping their character.
