Many times we listen and consume plenty of song from old to new ones, but at some moment there are songs I find very displeasing probably from the tune down to the melodies, I am a music lover even though I understand I’m not really good at singing, but sometimes I’m able to pay good attention and listen to some song to determine if they’re actually nice songs or deserves all credit they get.

Sometimes I see people hyping some certain songs which I don’t really think deserve all the hype, most especially in the Nigerian music industry, and for most of this reasons you find out that some important songs are extinguished from the light of our consumption, most of this problems comes from when it’s time for an artist to probably release an album, you find out that some tracks in the album are not being payed proper attention to, at some point you’ll hear clearly some part in the song which if it was just adjust a little bit, it would have really transformed the song and made it even more nicer than it was, then you see some songs in same album that are far better than they ones the artist might be putting extra energy on promoting due to probably the hype or some certain miss arrangements.

With no hate or what so ever disqualification I would love to use the previous album by one of Nigerians greatest afro beats artist Davido. He had an album around 2024 which he titled TIMELESS, it was a very classy album that really took over the play list of many Nigerians as at the time of it release, but what I discovered from the artist and his album is that he got his mind and energy more on one track from the list of tracks in the album which I really think there are better songs in the album that would have made more numbers than the one particular song he inserts most of all his energy to.

Coming to see from my point of view, I just think the song was just overhyped and was to follow trends, if you check, a good music is not really about the expectations of people and what they want you to do in the song, a good music is all about the passion and connection the musician has with the song he or she is producing. I am not really trying to say Davido didn’t make a nice song, all I’m trying to say is that, it would have been better if he had ignored the trend and maybe spread his energy in prompting all the songs in the album.

To be significant about what I'm saying, I would pick two songs from the album to really backup what I’m talking about, he had the tack UNAVAILABLE and then KANTE from same album, UNAVAILABLE is the song I think was overhyped and was made to follow trends, while KANTE is the song I think it’s got more quality and would have done better in promotion than the Unavailable song.

Everybody putting in work and trying their best really deserves credits no matter how it is because no amount of work is small, but for the sake of our discussion from, I think with what I have said, I would love to listen to songs that contains the qualities I have mention clearly above.
