[EN/PT-BR] Brazil: Paradise for taxes.

I believe that there should be no taxes to pay in our lives, or if somehow this were truly impossible (which today also seems to be true), the amounts set should be the minimum possible for the population. The super negative experience we have here in Brazil is this. There is no point in even talking much about a single tax, a single fee or how much we pay in taxes. The fact is that taxes simply eat up our entire salary and source of income, this has been the case for as long as I can remember and, apparently, it will always be this way.

No matter how much they say that taxes should be converted into improvements, that is not what usually happens here. I won't say that they never invest what they collect, because there is no way to prove that, but the feeling is basically that everything you pay never returns efficiently to the population, so we have cases of corruption shown on television and in the news, which are practically routine, it is something you see very frequently, so with so many embezzlements, where does all that money we pay go?

Only God knows, after all, not every scheme is discovered, not every place has a transparency portal (and I always wonder, is it really transparent?) to show what happens to the politicians we vote for, to the people who should work for us, the population, but, in fact, it seems that they are like kings and we are their servants. Paying bills now represents a little more than half of my salary and, as much as some people joke that I earn little, it's not really, it's the things that are expensive, full of taxes that only complicate our lives.

As I said in the first paragraph, I don't even usually write things down anymore, just a few fixed bills, but there are so many taxes, everything is so expensive that I would go crazy if I tried to write them down to evaluate something somehow. For this reason, I can't even say how much I pay in taxes per month, I can only say that it's a lot. Not to mention that every year, we are ready to file our income tax return, which this year came with new features, they created sections especially for you to declare your cryptocurrencies, after all, crypto is equivalent to freedom, freedom from the government, from the state and they certainly wouldn't be happy with that forever.

There is a website called taxometer and guess what it's for? Exactly, to show how much tax Brazilians have already paid and incredibly this amount breaks records every year. To give you an idea, the total amount of taxes is 1 trillion and 130 billion reais and we are only in month 4, imagine how much this number will be in December?

Another indisputable and very sad fact is the IRBES index (Index of Return of Well-Being to Society), which is the metric carried out on the 30 countries that have the highest tax burden on the planet... we are always in 30th place and have been since 2011, when the study began. Yes, Brazil is in last place on this index and, apparently, no one is going to take us out of there any time soon. Other South American countries, such as Uruguay (9th) and Argentina (22nd), are ahead of us (2022 ranking), showing how Brazil is a country that is screwed when it comes to taxes.

They have nothing to say, maybe just cry and try to do our best to survive. In an index that studies the 30 countries with the highest tax burden, being in last place since 2011, there really is nothing to do or say, just accept that we have the potential to be a first world country, but that we will never get there, apparently, because of corrupt politicians and an outdated culture, where the people just watch in silence as all this happens.

Acredito que não deveria haver impostos para pagarmos em nossas vidas, ou se de alguma forma isso fosse realmente impossível (o que hoje também parece ser verídico), os valores definidos deveriam ser o mínimo possível para a população. A experiência super negativa que temos aqui no Brasil é essa. Não adianta nem falar muito em um único imposto, uma única taxa ou qual valor pagamos em imposto. O fato é que simplesmente imposto come todo o nosso salário e fonte de renda, é isso desde que me lembro por gente e, ao que parece, sempre será assim.

Por mais que falem que o imposto deve ser convertido em melhorias, não é o que costuma acontecer por aqui. Não vou falar que nunca investem o que arrecadam, até porque não teria como provar isso, mas o sentimento é basicamente esse, de que tudo o que você paga, nunca volta eficientemente para a população, então temos os casos de corrupção mostrados na televisão e noticiários, sendo praticamente rotineiros, é algo que você vê com muita frequência, então, com tantos desvios, toda aquela grana que pagamos, para onde vai?

Só Deus sabe, afinal, nem todo esquema é descoberto, nem todo lugar possui um portal de transparência (e sempre me pergunto, será que é transparente mesmo?) para mostrar o que acontece com os políticos que votamos, com as pessoas que deveriam trabalhar para nós, a população, mas, na verdade, parece que eles são como reis e nós os serviçais. O pagamento de contas, hoje, representa um pouco mais da metade do meu salário e, por mais que alguns brinquem que ganho pouco, não, na verdade, são as coisas que estão caras, abarrotadas de impostos que somente complicam nossas vidas.

Como dito no primeiro parágrafo, nem costumo mais anotar as coisas, somente algumas contas fixas, mas são tantos impostos, é tudo tão caro que ficaria maluco se tentasse anotar para avaliar algo de algum jeito. Por esse motivo, nem sei dizer o quanto pago de imposto por mês, somente posso dizer que é muito. Sem contar que todo ano, estamos prontos para fazer a nossa declaração de imposto de renda, que esse ano veio com novidades, criaram seções especialmente para você declarar suas criptomoedas, afinal, cripto é equivalente à liberdade, liberdade essa do governo, do estado e eles com certeza não ficariam felizes com isso para sempre.

Existe um site que se chama impostômetro e adivinhem para o que ele serve? Exatamente, mostrar quanto de imposto o brasileiro já pagou e incrivelmente esse valor bate recordes todos os anos. Para se ter uma ideia, o valor total de impostos está em 1 trilhão e 130 bilhões de reais e estamos somente no mês 4, imagina quanto será esse número em dezembro?

Outro fato incontestável e muito triste é o índice IRBES (Índice de Retorno de Bem Estar à Sociedade), sendo a métrica realizada em cima dos 30 países que possuem a maior carga tributária do planeta… estamos sempre em 30º e desde 2011, quando começou a ser feito o estudo. Sim, o último lugar desse índice é do Brasil e, ao que parece, ninguém vai nos tirar de lá tão cedo. Outros países da América do Sul, como o Uruguai (em 9º) e a Argentina (22º), estão na nossa frente (colocação de 2022), mostrando como o Brasil é um país ferrado na questão de imposto.

Não têm o que dizer, talvez somente chorar e tentar fazer o nosso melhor para sobreviver. Em um índice que estuda os 30 países que mais têm carga tributária, estarmos em último desde 2011, realmente não tem o que fazer ou dizer, somente aceitar que temos o potencial de ser um país de primeiro mundo, mas que nunca chegaremos lá, pelo visto, por conta de políticos corruptos e uma cultura defasada, onde o povo somente assiste calado tudo isso acontecer.
