Today I went to the mall with my mother (the woman with glasses) and a long-time friend of hers. We've been friends for over 40 years and I'm impressed by that. I think my oldest friend that I've been in contact with must have been in contact with her for about 15 years.

Well, despite a very sad week for our whole family with the passing of my aunt, life goes on. My mother needed to buy some things and I also took the opportunity to buy some glasses and a lamp for the bathroom.

I took these photos at the mall, I think I'm losing a little bit of my fear of doing this, although I was afraid of taking photos of people and for some reason they would think it was bad and then demand "copyright" on your photo. In fact, I don't even know if that can really happen, but anyway, here are the photos.

Hoje foi dia de ir ao shopping com a minha mãe (a mulher de oculos) e uma amiga de longa data sua. São mais de 40 anos de amizade e eu fico impressionado com isso. Acho que o meu amigo mais antigo hoje que eu tenho contato deve ter uns 15 anos apenas de contato.

Bem, apesar de uma semana bem triste para toda nossa familia com a partida da minha tia, a vida continua. Minha mãe precisava comprar algumas coisas e eu também aproveitei para comprar alguns copos e uma lampada para por no banheiro.

Tirei essas fotos pelo shopping, acho que estou perdendo um pouco o medo de fazer isso, apesar de que fiquei com receio de tirar foto das pessoas e por algum motivos elas acharem ruim e assim cobrarem "direitos autorais" sobre a sua foto. Na real, nem sei se isso realmente pode acontecer, mas, enfim, as fotos estão aí.

Sorry to hear about your aunt, it's always hard to lose someone you care about. I've lost my parents, uncles, and aunts already. Except on uncle hanging on still.

Great pictures, monochrome brings out those interesting details you otherwise might miss. My longest friendship is about 34 years, we haven't seen each other in thirty of those years but we're still good friends. Life is funny and way too short!

Life has these moments of loss, we gain many things but we can also lose, it's a cycle that no matter how prepared we think we are, we never are. Life goes on and we need to keep going, the bills are coming in, I have my children to raise, a wife to look after and so it goes on.
