First of all, Happy Saint Patrick's day to all those that celebrate it. Today, I want to discuss about what's most important to me for my personality in regards to a sense of humor versus having good manners.

Personally, I think my sense of humor is awful. I tend to take things seriously so when people are joking with me sometimes I may not realize it was a joke. I think Galen knows this because he loves to joke and sometimes I totally took it too seriously. This doesn't mean that I never laugh at jokes. There are some stupid things out there that have made me laugh. A recent one I recall is a meme of a pikachu colored in black named Nigachu. Pikachu is known for saying Pika Pika but this pikachu said Niga Niga because of the color. It seems kind of bad to laugh at this but I'm not racist by any means. I'm not going to share the picture of the meme because I don't want to offend anybody. I'm sure you can imagine it or if you have a poor imagination you could probably find it online.

As for good manners, this is something that I was taught when I was young. I was taught that it was important to say please and thank you. As I was growing up, I saw the power in those two magical phrases. It showed good character and it definitely helped maintain any kind of relationships I had whether it be co-workers, friends, family etc. In my opinion, having good manners makes people like you more and people will usually reciprocate and treat you back with good manners and respect.

So when it comes to these two personalities, I think having good manners is hands down the best personality to me. I think I could give up having a sense of humor because at least I would have good manners so people wouldn't be offended that I didn't get their joke (get it). I just don't see how I could give up good manners as that could hurt me a lot throughout life.
