Look Me In the Eyes

WHAT'S UP? I have been on a hiatus but I'm back. I will do my best to write daily. I've been doing great and I hope you all are as well. It's Tuesday so I will be sharing three songs for Three Tune Tuesday. It's been a while so I have a lot of songs to share so don't worry. I'm going to share three emo Chinese songs that I've been hitting replay recently but in no way does it mean I'm emo.

用背脊唱情歌 (Singing Love Songs With My Back Turned) - gareth.t

用背脊唱情歌 is gareth.t's most recent song. For those that don't know, this song is in Cantonese which is a dialect of Chinese. I like the video, the lyrics, the title, the voice and the melody of the song. I think it just all flows together and you can feel the sadness from the song. I'm not sure if it's based on a real life experience by the singer but the song is about a popular singer in a relationship but their significant other leaves them. The singer is really sad and it's easy to tell from the front of his body hence he would rather sing love songs with his back turned. From the back, you can't tell whether a person is happy or sad.

想當你永遠的星辰 To Be Your Guiding Light - 宏兒 Kuan Hong

This is the first song I heard from Kuan Hong. I'm surprised he's not more popular but I think he will get there if he keeps singing songs like this one. This is another emo song about a relationship where there was a lot of talk about the future of them together but in the end it just didn't work out. The person is now looking back and feeling regret but at the same time they have come to accept the outcome of the past.

看着我的眼睛说 (Look Me In The Eyes & Say) - 姚晓棠 (Yao Xiaotang), 张远 (Zhang Yuan)

Now this is my favorite song at the moment. It's still fairly new and it's pretty popular now. It kind of gives me that Jia Bin vibe. It's definitely up there with the top emo Chinese songs. The lyrics in the song is really sad. The guy is hiding at home ready to surprise his girlfriend for her birthday; the lyrics mention ring so I assume he was planning on proposing to her. In the end, he gets surprised back that she wants to break up with him. Apparently, her ex came back and she wants to get back with him. The guy is completely broken but it's still her birthday so he's willing to let her go and even help her get back with the ex as her birthday wish. All the guy asked of her was to look into his eyes and say that she never loved him.
