Good To Be Good

It's about over a week and half but I don't think I've shared it yet in any post. July was my last month helping out BNC part time. I got this nice thank you basket as an appreciation gift. I received this during last month's dinner event and I was surprised that they did this for me. I was called on the spot during the dinner and it felt good but I'm not the type of person that wants to be praised in front of so many people.

I believe I'm a good person overall at least in real life. I help give back to society by volunteering. If I get tasked to do something, I do it promptly and efficiently. I've talked to people out of suicide before which was a little scary. I have bought food for people on the streets before randomly. I have given away things I don't need or donating them to goodwill etc. Despite all this though when it comes to League of Legends, I'm a completely different person. I'm competitive so I've been toxic to my teammates before and chat restricted etc. This is the part where I don't think I'm a good person sometimes.

A few days ago to be exact on Wednesday, I got invited to someone's office to have lunch as a small thank you and farewell for my time in BNC. I even got my boss to come to accompany me as he's also a BNC member. Honestly, I brought him so I can have him talk more instead of me talking since I'm not a person with a lot of words. Amidst of our discussion, the person that invited me said that they thought I was a good and likeable person. She said that I just needed to talk more and be more confident which I guess is kind of true since I'm usually quiet. I want to say that I'm somewhat confident but I try not to express it because I don't want people to think I'm cocky or anything.

It wasn't too long of a meeting. She got us all some japanese chicken chop, salad, green tea, and kueh to eat. The food was great and I appreciated that she invited me over. We ended up talking and knowing more about her background and even got into some spiritual talk. We said our goodbyes after her next person that she had a meeting with came to her office.

I think being a good person has definitely made a positive impact in my life. Aside from having a good feeling for doing something good, I think it's very satisfying to be able to help others in their life. I also feel like I've made a positive impact towards others. I set an example for others to be good as well. Only if everyone could be a "good person', the world would be truly a great place but sadly that's not the case; we can only control ourselves. In conclusion, it's good to be good.
