Introduction

Last Sunday, I had a family dinner to celebrate three of my cousins' birthday. All their birthdays are in February so every year it's a tradition for them to celebrate together. I forgot to take the picture for the menu but I do have a lot of food pictures!

Turkish Cafe Istanbul

Turkish Cafe Istanbul specializes in Turkish food; I guess this is kind of a no brainer since it's in the title of their restaurant. I think this is the first time I've had Turkish food or maybe if I did before but it must have been a long time ago. I like how they made the art of their name because it made their simple name a bit creative. Anyways you can see below they do have a 4.6 stars out of 1263 reviews which is pretty good. I didn't see anything that would give freebies for good reviews so this is pretty legit provided they aren't paying for reviews but I doubt they are doing that.

Ambience

I wasn't able to get a picture of the ambience. My family reserved a slightly closed off room so it was pretty spacious. There was another private room opposite of us that we could see but it had a good distance so I couldn't really hear the noise from the other table. The private room had nice seating and was well decorated.

Food

I'm not 100% sure what all the food was. This time the food was kind of ordered and shared around. The only thing I ordered was the mango yogurt smoothie which was pretty nice. As for the rest, there was some bread with sauce as an appetizer. There was a beef pizza with some salad followed up by a lamb shank with rice. Many of us agreed that the lamb was kind of small. After that we can see a plate of kebab which had beef, chicken and lamb with some rice and vegetables. I think this dish was my favorite out of all. Lastly, there was some cheese bread with some chicken inside which was good as well.

Concluding Thoughts

I don't have the receipt for this time since I didn't pay. If I'm not wrong the cost was RM1000ish which is around 208 USD but we had 15 pax so this was alright. I knew that this was the cost because some of the family members said we had to buy extra food to hit the minimum of RM1k for reserving the private room.
