Eating Out @Chef SamerMumtaz

Introduction

On Sunday, I watched Alien: Romulus with my cousin. The movie was alright; it was kind of predictable but there was one scene towards the end where it made the movie ok. The first half of the movie is kind of boring in my opinion. Anyways this post isn't about the movie. It's about eating out at Chef SamerMumtaz. This was both our first time eating here and I chose it because they had a good reviews on google.

Chef SamerMumtaz is a middle eastern restaurant and they specialize in traditional Arabic dishes. It was a restaurant I came across in google reviews and something I wanted to try since they had 5 stars out of 82 reviews which is pretty good that they didn't even have any complaints. It seemed to good to be true.

Food

We decided to share the food. We ordered a mix grill which was a plate with some different meats. It came with bread, fries, some vegetables and a garlic sauce. Of course, we are Asians so we love our rice. We got the biryani rice which was very nice. I apologize for the rice picture because I forgot to take a picture of it and ended up already taking it because we were just that hungry. The bread was alright. Then for dessert we got an ice-cream pancake. It was four pancakes stacked together and covered with some chocolate coating and a vanilla ice cream to the side.

Concluding Thoughts

Overall, the food was great. I enjoyed it and I can see how they got 5 stars in their google reviews. On top of that, the service was great. The waiter was attentive to detail and was knowledgeable about the menu and gave a good recommendation for the mix grill so we could try the different types of meat. The price of the food was reasonable and the portions are generous in my opinion. The ice cream pancake was too sweet for me though and I wish they had more scoops of vanilla ice cream. It was a nice mix of warmth from the pancake and the cooling from the ice cream; it kind of reminds me of a pizookie which is baked cookie with ice cream on top. Since I chose the place, I paid for it and treated my cousin for this meal. I'll let him treat the next time around when we go see another movie in the future.
