Introduction

Not too long ago, Splinterlands shared their post for celebrating six years of Splinterlands. I will break down the twitter giveaway and the upcoming open tournament on May 31st!

Splinterlands is having celebratory twitter posts from May 23 to May 31; they will be featuring key parts of the game. In addition to that, they will be giving away 335 rebellion packs to people that engage in these posts with likes, retweets and comments! There will be 120 winners total.

What do I think of all this though? I think it's a great initiative. Splniterlands making it to 6 years as web3 game is no easy task. I feel there's a lot of web3 projects and games that fail to survive the bear market. A good example is metaops. It was a FPS game that honestly had great potential. The game was playable and fun but the team wasn't able to continue the game.

I'm not expecting a lot of people to join Splinterlands after this initiative but at least it will help get the name of the game out there. Honestly, I still think Splinterlands is a great game but we really need to have an easier onboarding and I think there are some elements of web2 that need to be brought in.

Rise Of The Champion Tournament

Rise of the Champion will be the biggest tournament for Splinterlands this year. First place is looking super juicy with almost $800 dollars in DEC at current price with a runi and 5 plots. That's over $1000 dollar prize for first place. 2nd place also has great reward as well. I think third place rewards should have a bit more DEC though at least 100-250k because that's a huge drop from 500k from 2nd place.

1st Place: Runi + 5 Plots + 1,000,000 DEC
2nd Place: Runi + 4 Plots + 500,000 DEC
3rd Place: 4 Plots + 45,000 DEC
4th-10th Place: 1 Plot + 20,000 DEC
11th to 47th Place: 7,000 DEC + 2 Rebellion Packs
48th to 61st Place: 4,000 DEC + 1 Rebellion Pack
62nd to 138th Place: 1 Rebellion Pack

You have to be KYC'd though to play this tournament. Sadly, that is going to put off some players but I think it's with good reason. I wouldn't want someone multi-accounting and taking all the top prizes which is already happening ranked modern from what I heard. I believe others would agree with me on this as well.

I will be participating in this tournament with my own account so if you see shawnnft please go easy on me! It will be super fun because everyone will have access to all the mordern cards at max level!

What's Coming

can’t wait for what the future has in store: the completion of the revamped New Player Experience, Land 2.0, housing, player avatars, card skins, boss battles, and so much more!

I saw this in the post. I can't wait for all these to come out. Hopefully all by the end of the year. We really need New player experience. I want new players here. I don't mind teaching them how to play and how to navigate the hive blockchain. I might be interested in land 2.0 now since I have some land now. I'm also looking forward to card skins. I've always thought skins would be a great money in type of thing. We need people to spend money and enjoy the game and not just withdraw their "earnings". Boss battles sound fun too. I liked what they did in Cross The Ages with boss raid battles so I feel Splinterlands can definitely do something great with that as well.
