Sometimes things don't go the way we expect it. This happens in many cases when buying something. I've seen people try to sell things online and in a sense deceive people. For example, my dad wanted to purchase a chair but ended up only buying the wheel for the chair and then it made sense why it was so cheap. He thought it was the full chair because of the photo and I guess the text kind of also made it seem like it was for the whole chair. There's also cases for food when I bought something that was "large" but it didn't seem like a big difference to the "normal" size when I compared it to my friend's bowl. There's also sometimes where I bought slightly higher priced lunch/dinner; you think it would taste better but there was a cheaper alternative restaurant where I could have had a better value for the money spent. This list could go on forever.

Anyways, I want to share a story that happened to me recently where I purchased 100 Riftwatchers packs in Splinterlands. In fact, this was exactly a week ago. I actually have a recording of me opening the packs. To buy these 100 Riftwatchers packs, I spent 500k DEC and 110 vouchers which is around $390 dollars currently but at the time I bought it, it was probably over $400.

As you can see from the pictures above, I analyzed the 100 packs I bought. This tool calculated the total value of all the cards I got from opening and it only amounted to around $274 USD. This means that I lost slightly over $100 dollars. I would've been able to buy the cards of the market and still have $100 dollars leftover if I didn't purchase the packs. However, I am guaranteed a legendary card for each of the next three airdrops for purchasing a certain amount of packs total. So if I'm able to pull a legendary card gold foil, it would make up for this huge loss.

Unfortunately the video I uploaded is missing my reaction. The part with my camera with the reaction was missing from the video for some reason. Anyways if you saw my reaction in real life, I was quite disappointed from the cards I got in the pack. It was sad to me that I wasn't able to get any gold foil epic or gold foil legendary cards. I was hoping to pull some and actually gain more value in cards than I spent for the packs. Anyways I just have to take this with a grain of salt and accept what I got. Things like this are just RNG and you never know what you will get since nothing valuable is guaranteed when opening card packs.

This is where I will end my story. I want to end with one of the famous lines from Forest Gump "My mama always said life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get." I believe this is quote is quite accurate when purchasing something we can't immediately touch or see. This happens a lot when making online purchases. We kind of know what we are getting but until we actually receive it we don't know for sure that's what we're getting. I know what I said might sound confusing but if you get it you get it. I didn't have a box of chocolate so I took a picture of one of my favorite chocolates!
