A Better Me

avatar

It's crazy that a year flew by already. Since last December, I feel like I've gained a lot of experience in crypto. I was slightly unfortunate at the time I discovered crypto as it was on the way down. I did kind of get greedy thinking the prices would go higher and that was a mistake that I will never forget. Good thing I have a mentor now that has taught me one crucial thing which is "know when you've won the game". In short, it basically means to take the big profit and make the exit while leaving emotions inside. Don't be greedy to wait until that "highest point" because it's not that easy to predict.

In addition to that, I also learned a lot more on how blockchain worked and Hive worked. I also learned about many different types of scams and it's kind of scary how good some of these scams are. If it's too good to be true, it's most likely to good to be true. Always check with community and friends on things in crypto.

I also learned how to research NFT projects and figure out whether they are good or not. In the beginning of my crypto journey, I definitely experienced getting rug-pulled and since then I haven't really went through that same issue. One of the big wins I've had recently is with Raw Pass for Balthazar. Their game is releasing on Dec 15th and I hope you can support and buy raw ship with my raw code : BXN. Anyways I got 2 of these passes at 0.025 ETH and one pass at 0.05 ETH. Now these passes are worth 0.3 ETH. That's a crazy 10x on my money and that's not even including the surge in price of crypto. I bought these passes for like $40 and now they are worth over $700.

I feel now I have almost completed a full crypto cycle as the market is currently on a bull run as you can see from the chart below. There's a lot of hype for BTC ETF's coming in January and if it goes through we could see a serious run up with the Bitcoin halving happening in April next year.

Aside from crypto, I feel like I've improved in a lot of skills. I've gotten better at managing people since I have to manage people for gaming scholarships, my own guild and even hiring & giving directions for people on Udemy to complete a job. In addition to that, I feel like my writing skills have improved along with my creativity thanks to Galenkp with his weekend engagement writing topics. Even how I use Canva has been improved to make decent thumbnails for my blogs, posters for work, etc. Along with that, I have improved my speed at getting administration work done which involves paperwork, messaging people etc.

Another thing I feel I improved on is going out more. Covid was a big reason most people stayed at home but even before Covid I was someone that stayed home a lot. I could stay home without leaving the house for weeks. Anyways now I tend to go out more to meet my boss, hangout with my cousin or friends, play sports with some random strangers from a social tennis chat and go try new places to eat.

Conclusion
It's been an amazing year full of ups and downs just like the BTC chart but at the end of the day we have to stay positive. A lot of people thought it was the end of the world for crypto but look where we are now. I'm super happy with my green portfolio and I hope many others are as well. Personally, I feel like I've grown a lot and I'm always looking to improve myself. Hope you all enjoy the holiday season and have a great rest of the year!

I also learned a huge lesson in the crypto space, greedy isn't a good thing to embrace when it comes to taking profit.

I learned my lesson the hard way and wouldn't allow such again. I am happy you have a lot to share with us, happy Christmas in advance bro.

I love how you mentioned taking profits when things go up. I've done that and sometimes it pays while sometimes you kick yourself.

I remember mining my first $2000 of ETH and then selling it to payoff my investment in the computers. Sold 10 ETH @ $200 each.

Also bought a cheap $5 cellphone to mine Monero XMR ... mined 10 coins and sold for $20. Thought cool. Free phone for the kids and I made 4x my investment. A few years later XMR was at$200/coin.

The one that hurt most. Buying Tesla stock at the IPO at $20/share. Bought 1000 shares for $2000 and sold at $5000. 150% gain. Them when I saw tesla stock split 5:1 and hit almost $1000 each I kept thinking how I could have had almost half a million canadian 😞

I still think it's best to collect winnings just still sometimes it will bite you 😉

O.O well that's thinking a bit greedy hehe. i still think u won u know. cuz maybe it couldve gone down back to zero you never know lol. at least ur up money if you think this way. if we could always go back in time then itd be easy to just pick the winnning lottery ticket right :') at least. u couldve holded some but at least make sure u profit back your initial investment

And that's exactly what I tell myself. I got a 150% winner on Tesla. I got a 400% winner on XMR. I got a couple free computers from ETH mining. My entire investment back on Splinterlands (although I'm dropping money into the new set once my HBD leaves savings).

Develop that mindset and you'll survive.

but still.... the "could have beens" sometimes come back to bite ya ;)
