One of my favourite puddings is baked apples:

  • remove the core from the apple.
  • place on baking parchment in baking tin.
  • fill the core with demerara sugar.
  • place a knob of butter on top of the sugar.
  • if you like, stick a few cloves around the top of the apple.
  • bake in a moderate oven (180 degrees celsius) until the apple is soft.

The sugar and butter melt and combine with the juice from the apple to make a delicious sticky toffee sauce. My favourite accompaniment is thin cream, but it might be nice with greek yoghurt, too. (Remove the cloves) 😂

There are all sorts of variations including adding sultanas and spices or using mincemeat, but this is the original that I grew up with and my favourite by far.

Ah it sounds so tasty! You are the England pudding queen 😁 Greek yogurt is a good and healthier idea than vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. So many tasty dishes to try! I need 300 years of life with 5 stomachs ...
