RE: Lessons I’m Learning from Mining Crypto at Home This Summer

Something that has made a big difference in our home is to use radiant barrier in the attic, both stapled to the rafters and laying on the ceiling joists. In previous summers, our air conditioning struggled to lower the house temperature. Last year, I partially installed the barrier, which made a noticeable difference. But it was still warmer than we liked. This year, I finished the job and the house is comfortable, even on 100F days. In addition, our electric bill has remained lower than in previous years.
If you don't have an attic, radiant barrier can still help so long as there is an air gap between the barrier and the hot roof.

nah, no attic. Just bare tune roof with insulation. I am going to put a rubber type coating on the roof soon, mainly to help with leaks but it’s white so it should help a bit with some heat.
The tint I put up today helped a good bit.
The barrier can still help so long as there is a little bit of air gap between the insulation and barrier. It will reflect much of the heat back up to the roof rather than conduct it inside.
