One underutilized feature of Hive wallets is the ability to send encrypted messages. You do this by sending an amount as little as 0.001 HIVE or HBD to somebody and start the memo with the pound sign, #. For example:
# Hello world
The receiver can then click on the memo to decrypt the message. Think of the fee as postage. It helps control message spam.
