He is in search of something
Hello!, I will like to participate in this week contest of "a picture is worth a thousand words" below is my entry:
What do I see?
I see a tired boy sitting in a library with books scattered on the table.
What do I feel?
I feel he is in search of something which he couldn't get and because of that he is frustrated.
Dan is the only child of Mrs Kelvin, he lost his father during the civil war and ever since then life has not been good to them. Mrs kelvin works as a maid in a big man's house and she enrolled her son in a community school. Dan is a very promising child, intelligent and smart. From his early classes he has been winning different awards. He is now in basic 4 and a scholarship competition was announced which he told his mother about. To partake in this competition they need to get a ticket which his mother could not afford.
He wasn't happy with the fact that he couldn't pay for the thicket. Luckily for him, the school management held a meeting and decided to help him by getting him a ticket because it was an international competition. They bought the ticket for him and gave him to show his mother. He was so happy and prepared extensively for the competition. He kept the ticket in his diary which he carries about.
A day to the competition day, he was at the library as usual, he brought out his diary to jot somethings and after he was done he noticed the ticket was not where he kept it. He checked all his books to see if he mistakenly put it there but it was not in any. He searched again but still couldn't find it. When he got tired of searching he sat on his seat looking frustrated with his hands holding his head. Just at the point of crying Emmanuel his classmate ran in and handed his ticket which fell from his diary while he was rushing to the library. "Thank God" He shouted and hugged his friend.
Dan travelled the next day for the competition and he won. He got the scholarship and his school gained international recognition with other benefits.
Thanks for stopping by.
Bravo to Dan (and you for writing this).
Thanks @jpiekiel
Sometimes all children need is a helping hand when they exhibit an aptitude and willingness to better themselves. Thankfully, the school recognized this in him and decided to help. As usual, excitement overtakes kids, and they lose things that are important. Again, thank God for others who find items and return them to their owners. Kudos for Emmanuel.
