Let's start with this reminder: we live in the Internet Era, and for better or worse, that's where the majority of photographers are building their careers and portfolios.

While it is very important that people enjoy the artworks you create as a photographer, it is even more important that you are happy with creating your art. That is the most important part. Then, you will find people who also appreciate your art because we are all human and everyone has a different artistic taste.

There is nothing like discovering your own personal signature and something you like to create over and over again in your special way.

You want people to look at one of your photos and immediately recognize that it was created by you.

When you are creating new photos, do you have that in mind?

You Need to Be Strong and Stand Your Ground

In this post, I am showing you a style that I really enjoy photographing: Black and White Minimalistic photos. Personally, I wouldn't say that I have a signature just yet. I prefer to change it up, and that goes against what I am saying here. I know that, and I personally need to work on that myself.

But this style is something that I will always enjoy photographing.

Why do I say you need to stand your ground and be strong?

Well, I can tell you that these photos are some of my least favorite when I share them on social media. And I am fine with that because when I am creating them, I really have fun and enjoy the whole process. What I need to work on right now is finding the right audience for them.

Do not get discouraged if you have not found your style. It can take time, and as artists, we are always changing. But keep that in mind from now on. You want to stand out and you want people to recognize your work at first glance.

Because you don't want your image to get lost in the middle of so many other photos that look just like yours.

It is not easy to come up with something that is unique and that no one has ever done before, but that's where your creativity as an artist comes in. Be unique and be the best you can be in every photo you create.

Style and Signature Don't Have to Be Boring

Having a style and a signature can be dangerous as well. People's attention and taste can be very specific. So if you start getting popular for a certain style and keep creating more and more photos in that style, and keep growing a following that way, in the future, you might not be able to create anything else because all people will want to see is your personal style.

In this era where the content "has" to keep coming, that is a big no-no for me. Because when a photographer uploads multiple images and all of them just look the same, after a while I get bored. And you don't want to feel bored when looking at photos.

Now get out there, photograph, practice, discover your personal style and signature, and get ready to be discovered by everyone. Let the photography magic happen.
